DrinkUp Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 August 2026
DrinkUp (“we”, “the app”) is a personal hydration tracker for iOS. This policy describes what data we process and why.
Data we process
- Account (optional): email and password (via Firebase Authentication), display name, and username if you create an account.
- Hydration data: water amounts, timestamps, daily goal, optional photos you attach to a log (stored on-device; cloud sync for amounts when signed in).
- Device tokens: push notification tokens when you enable reminders or private alerts.
- Diagnostics: standard crash/performance data only if you enable platform analytics in the future; none required for core use.
How we use data
- Provide water logging, goals, history, reminders, export, and share cards.
- Sync signed-in data across your devices via Firebase.
- Deliver optional notifications you turn on.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Processing is performed using Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging) under their terms. You may share progress images or export files yourself via the iOS share sheet.
Retention & deletion
You can delete individual water logs in the app. Signed-in users can delete their account in Settings → Delete account, which removes the Auth user and best-effort cloud profile/water data. Offline logs are cleared on the device. Message history remaining for other participants is not automatically purged in this version.
Permissions
- Notifications — hydration reminders (and optional private alerts if enabled).
- Camera / Photos — optional photos on water logs and progress cards.
- Microphone — only if you record video with sound for media features.
Children
DrinkUp is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account for a child under 13.
